On Sunday May 6, 2007, the Truck Convoy for Wishes to benefit the Make-A-Wish® Foundation will be having their annual Truck Convoy in Hanover, PA.

The Truck Convoy has become somewhat of a phenomenon, with local truckers and trucking companies raising money through pledges to support the children of Make-A-Wish® from York and Adams County. The Make-A-Wish® Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening illneses to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. At first glance, the combination of big rigs and seriously ill children may seem to be somewhat odd. But, after witnessing the strength and joy these kids get from the power and might of the trucks and friendships they develop with the drivers, the relationship is a "natural" and one that is enormously gratifying for everyone. All proceeds of this event are earmarked to grant wishes for children in our community. The convoy is being sponsored by York Container and Great Country 107.7.

The event will begin Sunday morning at L & H Trucking, Gitts Run Road, Hanover. Registration will open at 7:30 am. There will be activities from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm. The Convoy will begin at 1:30 pm, travel to Gettysburg and back to L & H Trucking. The trucks will be following Route 94 North to Route 30 to Route 15, then back to Route 94 to Gitt's Run Road. As before, we will be placing wish children in the trucks as space and children are available. We are also working on some min-attractions along the parade route, especially through New Oxford and Hampton.

The entire community is invited to attend this event. Spend the day enjoying great food, games and prizes, carnival rides and entertainment provided by Kevin Sharp, as well as numerous kid's safety programs. What better way to spend the day than sharing in the Power of a Wish with our special children, and ensuring that many deserving children in your community get to realize their wish as well.
